Today we are going to share how to reset Nexus 6P to its factory default. But before starting to reset, we are going to wipe cache partition first. The reason to perform wipe cache partition first is that it won’t delete any of your data or settings. It doesn’t affect your system at all. If wiping cache partition didn’t work for you, we recommend you to run factory reset. Just few important things before hard resetting. First thing is to fully charge battery. Your phone might be turned off while operating hard reset. Second thing is to create a backup file. Factory resetting will erase all of your files. Just keep these two things in mind before starting hard reset. If you are ready? Let’s do this.

 

Wipe Cache Partition

Step 01. Make sure that your phone is completely powered off.

Step 02. Press and Hold Volume Down + Power buttons at the same time until recovery mode screen appears.

Step 03. Use the volume key to navigate to Recovery Mode and select the option by the power key.

Step 04. Soon you will get this icon. Don’t worry. Your phone is OK! Now Press and Hold the Power button and Press the Volume Up button one time holding down the Power Button.

Step 05. Your in the Recovery mode. Navigate to Wipe Cache Partition option using the volume button and select it using the power button.

Step 06. If it didn’t work for you, try to perform factory reset.

Factory Reset

Step 01. Everything is as same as above except choosing wipe cache partition. Turn off your phone completely.

Step 02. Press and Hold Down Volume Down + Power buttons together until recovery mode screen comes up.

Step 03. Use the volume key to navigate to Recovery Mode and select the option by the power key.

Step 04. In this screen, Press and Hold the Power button and Press the Volume Up button one time holding down the Power Button.

Step 05. Now choose Wipe Data/Factory Reset option using volume button and select it using power button.

Press and Hold the Power button and Press the Volume Up button one time holding down the Power Button.

Step 06. It will ask you to confirm. Select Yes-Delete All User Data.

Step 07. After all the process is finished, select reboot system now to restart your phone.
