Here is an instruction of how to perform hard reset and soft reset on Galaxy Note 5. If you are trying to perform hard reset due to some error code issues to installation problems, we recommend you to try soft reset first before performing hard reset. If soft resetting doesn’t work for you, then try to hard reset.

As it mentions below, it’s safe to fully charge your Galaxy Note 5. The reason why your phone is needed to be fully charged is that it could be shut down unexpectedly during the progress. If the device is shut down due to the lack of battery power, it can cause more serious software issues into the system. Accordingly, it’s always safe to fully charge your phone before operating.

Few important things before hard resetting:

  • Check your battery is charged more than 50%
  • Try to back up important files before hard resettings (Hard Reset erases all of your data and settings)
  • Try to soft reset first before performing hard reset
