Well, cellphones and tablets have no physical keyboards, but most of the laptops have physical keyboards and many of them also come with touch screen. We know that many people love touch screen, but many people also hate touch screen. With a touch screen, sometimes you can trigger unwanted action on your computer just by one touch. This is what we hate the most. Mistakes. Today, we will be learning how to disable touch screen on a laptop. This instruction will work with Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 8, and Windows 7. Let’s get started!

 

Disable (stop) touch screen on a laptop (For Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 7)

 

This instructions will work on any laptop with touch screens. No matter what Windows you have. (except Windows XP)

Windows 10: Right click “Windows Start Button” – Click “Control Panel” – “Device Manager” – Click “Human Interface Devices” – Right click “HID-compliant touch screen” – Click “Disable”

Windows 8.1 or 8: Right click “Windows Start Button” – Click “Control Panel” – “Device Manager” – Click “Human Interface Devices” – Right click “HID-compliant touch screen” – Click “Disable”

Windows 7: Click “Windows Start Button” – “Control Panel” – “Device Manager” – Click “Human Interface Devices” – Right click “HID-compliant touch screen” – Click “Disable”

That is it! You are done. After disabling the HID-compliant touch screen, your laptop’s touch screen will not work anymore. Later, if you want your touch screen work again, you can just do a right click the same device and you can click “Enable” to make the touch screen work. Easy.
