Is your New iPhone 7 won’t charge? or not charging to 100%?

If you have an experience that your iPhone 7 is not charging at all or not reaching to 100% battery life despite the device is plugged in, we recommend to try some of methods we are providing. There are many reasons that causes this issue. It can be a software issue or hardware issue or just a simple thing. Of course it could be a serious issue than we are expecting, but before bringing this iPhone 7 to the Apple shop, let’s try to solve the issues. We are going to start to check from a little thing that has a possibility causes the problem. Hopefully the problem is resolved through the methods below.

01. Soft Reset

Soft reset means being forced to shut down a device. If iOS gets temporally error, some issues could be occurred, such as screen freezing, charging problem, and some other various happens. If it’s a software issue, the problem could be figured out by performing soft reset. In order to run a soft reset, Press and Hold Down the Power + Volume Down buttons at the same time until the device reboots. If you keep holding the buttons, your iPhone will be turned off and turned on again. When it’s turned on, you will see the Apple logo comes up on the screen, and then release all held buttons. If soft resetting is successfully done, try to charge your iPhone and see if it’s fixed.

02. Use OEM Charging Cable

Perhaps it’s the cable. Some third party charging cables are not working properly. In some cases, a cable is loose or iPhone can’t recognize the charging cable. If you are using a third party charging cable, try to use OEM charging cable. If you don’t have the OEM cable, try to use other cables, but we recommend to give it a try with OEM cable.

03. Change Power Sources

Maybe it’s your power adapter! Have you tried to charge with other power sources? Try to charge your iPhone with a laptop or other power adapter. In my case, it was the power surge protector that causes the not charging issues. So please check if your power source device is working properly.

04. Clean Up Charging Port with a Tooth Brush

If there is a lot of dust in the charging port area, it causes charging issues. Please check if the charging port gets dust inside. In order to clean up the charging port, you can use a tooth brush. Gently clean the charging port with a soft tooth brush. You can also use little bit of alcohol, But you should completely dry the device after using alcohol. Never turn the device on right after using alcohol. Liquid can seriously damage the electronic device.

05. Set an Appointment with Genius Bar

If all of methods above didn’t work for you, it might be more serious problem than we are expecting. We recommend you to set an appointment with a technician at the Apple Store and ask them to check your iPhone 7.
