The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error | Windows 7 Installation

the computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install Windows, click “OK” to restart the computer, and then restart the installation | Windows 7 Installation

Good Afternoon everyone! It’s been a while since we uploaded the last post. So… We decided to upload a blog post today. For this one, we recently noticed this while installing Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit version on a laptop. We used Windows 7 HP 64 Bit DVD for installation. Everything went smoothly.. it successfully installed the Windows files, but after a first restart, all we have is the message above, and then when we click ok, it shuts down the computer. Now, let’s fix this problem.

How to fix the problem ?

1. Install Windows using different media

Are you trying to install using a DVD disc ? or USB stick ? Try to use different type of installation media. You also can try to re-create the Windows Installation DVD or USB. Maybe your DVD or USB stick has corruption.

2. If you are using DVD drive for Windows installation, use different DVD drive

Actually, this was the solution to our case. When we first see the error above, we checked the laptop’s hard drive, and we did try changing the hard drive, but it did not work. So we used an external DVD drive, and BINGO! it worked. Try to use different drive if possible. The faulty drive may result the error.

3. Check your hard drive and replace it if it’s bad

This error could be caused by a bad hard drive. If you can get a different hard drive, try a different hard drive.

We hope all of you fixed the Windows installation problem. We will keep update this post as we find more solutions for this problem. Have a nice day!
