OnePlus 3 – Hard Reset (Factory Default) & Wipe Cache

Today we are going to share how to reset OnePlus 3 to factory default. Factory reseting will remove all of your data and personal settings, so please try to make a backup file if you have important files. Since factory reset erases all of your data, we are going to wipe cache first. The reason we are trying to wipe cache first is that wiping cache doesn’t delete any data or settings and it might resolve the issues you have. So we are going to try to wipe cache first and if it doesn’t work then we are going to perform factory reset. Also please check your battery is fully charged before starting because your phone might be turned off while resetting. If you are ready, let’s get started!

You might want to reset to its factory default, if your phone has one of the following issues:

  • Doesn’t turn on after software update.
  • Screen won’t turn on
  • My phone is running too slow or frozen

 

Hard Reset

Step 01. Please completely power off your phone.

Step 02. Press and hold volume down + home keys at the same time for few seconds.

Step 03. When the screen turns to choose languages, you can release held keys.

Step 04. navigate to your language using the volume button and select it using the power button.

Step 05. Select wipe data and cache

Step 06. Now you have two options. As we mentioned above, we are going to perform wipe cache first, because it’s safe way to try. It might solve the issues without deleting any of your data and settings. Try to wipe cache first, and if it didn’t work, try to perform factory reset.

Step 07. Once you select Factory Reset, it will ask you to confirm. Select Yes for the next step.

Step 08. When the hard reset processing is done, select Reboot. now it’s done!!
