Hello everyone. Today’s tip is regarding the Safe Mode in Windows 10. How to go to Safe Mode ? There are few ways you can get to it, and it is pretty much similar to Windows 8. We will going to find out the most common ways. Why Safe Mode ? Because in Safe Mode, it does not run most of the third party programs and drivers. Which means, if a driver or a third party program is causing Windows to crash or when you have a virus, you can avoid them to start by entering Safe Mode. Most times, you will be able to start Safe Mode when you are not able to start Windows normally. Let’s find out the two most common ways to activate Safe Mode.

1. Enable Safe Mode in Windows 10 (System Configuration)

On the Windows 10 task bar, there is a search bar. In the search bar, type either “msconfig” or “system configuration”.

Click “System Configuration”.

On the top menu, click “Boot” then under “Boot options”, click “Safe boot”.

Restart your computer, and you will be in Safe Mode on restart. From this point, your computer will always boot into Safe Mode. To disable again, repeat the steps above and remove check mark from “Safe boot”.

2. Press “Shift” key & Restart

Press and hold “Shift” key on your keyboard, and restart your computer. Hold the shift key until you see a blue page like below picture.

Click “Troubleshoot”.

Click “Advanced options”.

Click “Startup Settings”.

Click “Restart” button to restart the computer.

When you see this page after restarting, you can press F4 or F5 or F6. F4 is normal Safe Mode without internet access. F5 is Safe Mode with internet access. F6 is Safe Mode with Windows Command Prompt. Depends on what you need, choose any one of three different Safe Mode.
