Hi! I lived few months without the camera on my Nexus 4 (the icon was missing as well), tried all the methods available on the internet to recover it – thinking about a software problem, but the real problem was the hardware. So you can buy a new one on Ebay (really cheap, 2 or 3 dollars) and watch on Youtube a disassembly guide (which is quite easy, trust me!). Hope this will be helpful!

Even after trying all those tips I could’nt turn on my camera.i even lost the camera icon in my phone menu.bt I have it on screen lock.when I click it the same message “can’t connect to the camera” comes.plz help

Thank you so very much. I’ve been without my camera for months and it’s been driving me increasingly crazy. Really what is a smart phone without a camera? Method 3 seems to have done the trick. I really hope it stays fixed. Thanks again!

Method 3. Go to Settings – Developer options — find “Use NuPlayer” and uncheck it & restart solved the problem.

1. Try to use different web browser first
2. Delete cache of your default photo viewer
3. if it keep happens, try to use different photo viewer app instead of one that you have installed now. Hope this will fix the issue.
