To explain it easy, SSL encrypts your email message, so no one can read. None SSL will not encrypt your email message, and it send out in plain text. Which means, if someone steals your email message, the person can read the whole contents of that email message. So. let’s use secured connection.
Differences between IMAP and POP3
Here are the definitions of IMAP and POP protocols.
IMAP (Internet Messaged Access Protocol) | POP (Post Office Protocol)
IMAP: Your email service provider’s server keeps emails on the email server. IMAP allows you to use different computers/devices to check your emails. Your emails will always be synced and will instantly appear in your inbox no matter which device you use. If you delete emails from any device, it will remove the emails from the email server too.
POP: It downloads emails from your email service provider’s email server for permanent local storage on a computer or other device. It downloads the copy of emails to your computer.
