Huawei P9 – Factory Reset & Wipe Cache Partition

Today we are going to share how to factory reset and wipe cache partition on Huawei P9. If your phone is at the one of the following situation, you might want to perform wipe cache partition or factory reset.

My phone screen won’t turn on (Black Screen).
My phone won’t boot up or start up.
My phone keeps restarting or stuck at loading.

If you decided to perform factory reset, we recommend you to wipe cache partition first, because wiping cache partition won’t remove any of your data. The problem could be resolved without removing any data.

Screen won’t turn on?

Press and hold down the power button for more than 20 seconds. If it didn’t work for you, Press and hold down Volume UP + Power buttons at the same time for more than 20 seconds until the screen turns on.

Won’t start up? Keeps freezing? (3 methods)

1. Safe Mode

Step 01. Shut Down your phone completely.

Step 02. Turn the phone on and when the logo comes up, press and hold volume down key until it completely boots up to Safe Mode. If you see at the bottom left corner, you will see safe mode.

2. Wipe Cache Partition

Step 01. Make sure the device is turned off.

Step 02. Press and Hold the Volume Up + Power buttons at the same time. When the Huawei P9 Logo appears on the screen, release the power button only, but keep holding down the volume up key until you see the recovery mode.

Step 03. Soon you will see this screen. Select Wipe Cache Partition using the volume down key and select it using the power key.

3. Factory Reset

Step 01. Please turn off your phone completely.

Step 02. Press and Hold Down the Volume Up + Power buttons together. When the Huawei P9 Logo comes up on the screen, release the power button only, but keep holding the volume up key until you boot up into recovery mode.

Step 03. Navigate to Wipe data/factory reset using the volume key and select it using the power button.

Step 04. It will ask you to delete for sure one more time. Select Wipe Data/Factory Reset.

Step 05. When the hard reset processing is done, select Reboot System Now to restart your phone.

Nexus 6P – Factory Reset & Wipe Cache Partition

Today we are going to share how to reset Nexus 6P to its factory default. But before starting to reset, we are going to wipe cache partition first. The reason to perform wipe cache partition first is that it won’t delete any of your data or settings. It doesn’t affect your system at all. If wiping cache partition didn’t work for you, we recommend you to run factory reset. Just few important things before hard resetting. First thing is to fully charge battery. Your phone might be turned off while operating hard reset. Second thing is to create a backup file. Factory resetting will erase all of your files. Just keep these two things in mind before starting hard reset. If you are ready? Let’s do this.

Wipe Cache Partition

Step 01. Make sure that your phone is completely powered off.

Step 02. Press and Hold Volume Down + Power buttons at the same time until recovery mode screen appears.

Step 03. Use the volume key to navigate to Recovery Mode and select the option by the power key.

Step 04. Soon you will get this icon. Don’t worry. Your phone is OK! Now Press and Hold the Power button and Press the Volume Up button one time holding down the Power Button.

Step 05. Your in the Recovery mode. Navigate to Wipe Cache Partition option using the volume button and select it using the power button.

Step 06. If it didn’t work for you, try to perform factory reset.

Factory Reset

Step 01. Everything is as same as above except choosing wipe cache partition. Turn off your phone completely.

Step 02. Press and Hold Down Volume Down + Power buttons together until recovery mode screen comes up.

Step 03. Use the volume key to navigate to Recovery Mode and select the option by the power key.

Step 04. In this screen, Press and Hold the Power button and Press the Volume Up button one time holding down the Power Button.

Step 05. Now choose Wipe Data/Factory Reset option using volume button and select it using power button.

Step 06. It will ask you to confirm. Select Yes-Delete All User Data.

Step 07. After all the process is finished, select reboot system now to restart your phone.

Hard Reset on Huawei Nexus 6P (Restoring to factory settings)

Step 01. Turn your phone off completely. (Press and Hold the power button for about 5 seconds to shut it down completely)

Step 02. Press and Hold Volume Down + Power button at the same time until you see the option screen.

Step 03. Navigate to Recovery option using the volume button and select it using the power button.

Step 04. If you see the Android Robot appears, Press and Hold the Power button for few seconds.

Step 05. While holding the Power button, Press the Volume Up button.

Step 06. Navigate to wipe data/factory reset using the Volume button and select it using the power button.
