closing iBooks and restarting made them magically reappear, phew thank you P&T brothers

After updating my iPad I have to finish reading current book on iBooks before I can see my other books. The menu on the top left no longer works to take me back to my library. Also it no longer holds the page I am on if I leave it . When will they correct the bug? After I read all that is currently on my iBooks app I am done with this way of reading books

I have had the same issue – all of my epub and pdf documents have disappeared….. Lonely Planet Guides, free books from Hay House etc….. Just because we haven’t paid for it via ibooks doesn’t mean it should disappear! I updated with the ISOS but this didn’t immediately happen. Not having any luck syncing or trying any of the above hints. Not happy Jan!!

Just went to my ibooks library and ALL my books have disappeared. Had loads of reference material collected over many years! Erm, not happy. does anyone know why this happens and how to get the books back, if it’s possible?

Indeed, from one day to the other, this happened to me — and it’s mid-2016, so whatever is causing this, it most definitely never got fixed by Apple.

I have a lot of books, letters, notes, underlining, AAC files, PDFs, research etc from a lot of places in iBooks on my old iPad that I NEED to keep on my new iPad. I have had no problem getting the few books to reload from iTunes Store (minus my notes and underlines, of course), but the rest seems lost in the ether. How can I can I get all this on my new iPad before I reset the old one to give to my sister?
